Jungle Warfare Instructor Course is one of the most challenging course in the BDF, which Overseas Students also come to partake into.  It all Started on the 18 July and completed on the 03 September 2010.  Also first time ever two female from the BDF were on the course, Sgt T Robinson and Cpl Fuentes C.  

The Belize Contingent (BDF) to Haiti is in its second week.  The second week was more of a routine on the base camp and on worksite, each group gets up 0500hrs daily have breakfast and travel to their respective sites.  SUMMARY OF WORK SITE.  Worksites completed more than was expected for the week duration.  This was due to the exemplary work, knowledge and skill of the Belize contingent, the soldiers worked much faster, harder and longer than the US soldiers as they could withstand the high temperatures in Haiti.

The Ministry of National Security wishes to inform the public that Brigadier General Dario Tapia   has been inducted into the United States Army Command and General Staff College’s (CGSC) International Hall of Fame at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, USA on 8^th April, 2010.

CGSC honors officers who are resident graduates of CGSC and who through military merit, attained one of the highest positions of military importance in his country’s armed forces. The award is given to those persons whose leadership, vision and determination were consistently demonstrated by their steadfast commitment and support to enhance military capabilities of their country.  

General Dario Tapia attended the Command and General Staff Course at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas from June 2004 to June 2005.  The course is for one year and is designed to prepare senior officers to undertake senior leadership and command appointments in the military. General Dario Tapia took command of the Belize Defence Force on 1^st April, 2008, and is the 236^th inductee to the International Hall of Fame.    

Additionally, General Dario Tapia has been declared an Honorary Life Constituent of the Command and General Staff College Foundation. 

Section Commander's Cadre 2010 passed out on 01 April 2010.  It was seven week of intensive, physical and mentally demanding course.  The students were thought theorical and Practical phases of war.  First place student is Cpl Garbutt S from Training Company and second place went to LCpl Salam M from FHQ.
