The Ministry of National Security wishes to inform the public that Brigadier General Dario Tapia has been inducted into the United States Army Command and General Staff College’s (CGSC) International Hall of Fame at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, USA on 8th April, 2010.

CGSC honors officers who are resident graduates of CGSC and who through military merit, attained one of the highest positions of military importance in his country’s armed forces. The award is given to those persons whose leadership, vision and determination were consistently demonstrated by their steadfast commitment and support to enhance military capabilities of their country.

General Dario Tapia attended the Command and General Staff Course at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas from June 2004 to June 2005. The course is for one year and is designed to prepare senior officers to undertake senior leadership and command appointments in the military. General Dario Tapia took command of the Belize Defence Force on 1st April, 2008, and is the 236th inductee to the International Hall of Fame.

Additionally, General Dario Tapia has been declared an Honorary Life Constituent of the Command and General Staff College Foundation.
