FORCE SERGEANT MAJOR (FSM)

a.     The Force Seargant Major is directly responsible to the Commander for the good order and
         disciplne of the Force.  His responsiblilities are:
         
          1.  Force Strenght
          2.  Commander's Orders
          3.  Commander's Inspection
          4.  Adherence to Standing Orders
          5.  WOs & Sgts Mess
          6.  Cadres & Drill
          7.  Force Drill
          8.  Adherence to the Defence Act in Cases of Discipline
          9.  Force Fire Officer

b.      Supervision - He is to exercise a general supervisory role over all NCOs of the Force.

c.      Discipline - The good discipline of the Force depends to a large extent upon the manner in which the WOs and NCOs enforce order and discipline.  It is the duty of the FSM with constant attention to this vital aspect of the Force life to ensure that WOs and NCOs command the respect due to their rank from all subordinates.

d.      Corporals' Mess - The FSM is the President of the Corporals' Club and through the Fund Manger is to be responsible to the Commander for ensuring that the Club is running in accordance with the wishes of its members, subject to the approval of the Commander.
